A Perfect Partner for Sunday Shop
We firmly believe that the real deal cannot be replicated. The sense of history and authenticity that a beautiful antique provides for any interior, while possibly inexplicable, rarely goes unnoticed. While filling a home entirely with fine antiques is not the Sunday Shop way, nor is it feasible for most of us, a few select items mixed in with casual upholstered pieces and contemporary lighting or art is our favorite brew.
Living with antiques can be intimidating for some. The fabulous folks at Fireside Antiques have taught us many things here at Sunday Shop, but above all else, that living with antiques is easy! These pieces were built to last and have been loved and used for 100's of years. They are just waiting for their new chapter with you.
"We love nothing more than sharing our passion and knowledge of antiques and interior design."
Fireside Antiques & The Women Behind It
For over 30 years, Baton Rouge based Fireside Antiques has been run by a family of experts in European Antiques, passionate about bring warmth and history into your home. There are three generations of women behind the empire — from Grandmother, to daughter, to Granddaughter — working as a team to travel Europe in search of quality 18th, 19th, and 20th century antiques, reproductions, and accessories. Their goal is to regularly bring new and exciting pieces to their showroom in Baton Rouge. And now, our long standing relationship with Fireside has turned into a beautiful partnership enabling us to carry a selection of furniture, ceramics, and art from Fireside Antiques at Sunday Shop. These pieces are hand picked by our owners from the extensive Fireside collection in careful consideration of the Sunday Shop aesthetic. We are happy to bring our customers and clients access to such an exceptional collection of antique pieces that we know they will love and appreciate, and will stand the test of time.
Fireside Antiques has more recently taken their expertise and translated it into custom furniture pieces. Within the last 10 years, they have expanded their offering to a wide variety of bookcases, dining room tables, desks and lamps. These made-to-order pieces are influenced by antique European styles and crafted by skilled artisans in their Baton Rouge based workshop. Sunday Shop founders, Logan Killen Interiors, sourced one of these custom Fireside dining tables for a client and absolutely fell in love with the quality of the piece and the perfect finish. So when Sunday Shop was due to open, they just knew we had to have our very own custom-made French Walnut Dining Table. You can see this piece featured in the center of the shop, adorned with some of our most special treasures.
